The Abraxas Transition Program is a major workforce in the Abraxas Garden. The spirit and joy reflected in their accomplishments is contagious. Our students hearts and energy are immeasurable, here are some of their daily contributions: They bring coffee grounds from starbucks and Carl Jr’s for the compost bins. They keep the weeds cleared out of our native garden, and learn to plant succulents keeping our curb appeal beautiful. They plant seeds, harvest lettuce, transplant tomatoes, and keep the fruit orchard blooming. They sweep the garden, water the starter plants and spread straw on the ground to soak up any spilled water. They also run our Farmers Market at Elements Cafe. But most of all they keep everyone smiling, and keep us grounded always reminding us not to sweat the small stuff.
